This applet simulates a mass spectrometer. Charged particles enter
through an injector that selects their velocity. The electric charge interacts
with the magnetic field to produce a centripetal force on the particle, keeping
its trajectory on a circular path for as long as it is in the magnetic field.
Particles of different mass wind up at different spots on the edge of the
magnetic field. This simulation makes for good practice at using the right-hand
rule.
