TSUBAKI TSUBAKI RS Information Site Debut of New RS Roller Chain G7
The next evolution in chain! New RS Roller Chain G7

Twice the Wear Life
Lube Groove solid bushings retain lubrication longer

LG solid bushing We have increased the effectiveness of our special lube groove (LG) processing, which retains lubricating oil between the pin and bushing longer. With our newly-developed LG solid bushing (RS80-RS140), which is a seamless bushing with lasting pre-lubricating effect, we have doubled its already extended life.

Wear elongation of roller chain (dynamic characteristic)

The friction between pins and bushings leads to wear elongation when the chain engages the sprocket. Amount of wear is determined by the pressure applied to the surface between pin and bushing, speed at which the chain articvlates frequency of articvlation, environment, and lubrication conditions.

33% increase in kW Ratings
Realized by high technology, equipment, and quality control at Kyotanabe Plant
For the New RS Roller Chain G7 (RS80-RS240), a sophisticated integration of traditional manufacturing with the latest technology has enabled a reduction in quality fluctuations, resulting in about a 33% increase in kW ratings. (In-house comparison)

Improvement in handleability
New stamping and packaging have improved working efficiency

Combined stamping of TSUBAKI and RS brand TSUBAKI and RS brand are both stamped on the chain, and packing boxes show a printed picture of the chain. This facilitates identification of the chain at the time of replacement.
Recycled paper and soybean ink are used for packaging in consideration of the environment. Cardboard boxes are provided with serrated wave edges to prevent work injuries.

POWERFUL
Promoting space-savings with higher kW Rating (kW)
Ring Coin (RC) processing The world's top-class kW rating is achieved by increasing strength in the M-type connecting link owing to Ring Coin (RC) processing and improvement in the two-pitch offset link.
This enables reduction of chain and sprocket sizes, downsizing the equipment.
Ring Coin (RC) processing has achieved a connecting link strength far ahead of our competitors'
Connecting link breakage "Residual stress" generated from a groove around the plate hole eliminates strength reduction caused by the gap between the pin and the plate necessary for connecting and disconnecting. With this gap, the connecting link achieves the same strength as the as the chain itself.

※ Ring Coining: A load is applied around the plate hole to form a circular groove (ring coin). Stress load is applied to the material, which then generates stress to counteract tensile strength. The stress remaining inside the material is called residual stress, which increases its fatigue strength.

Roller chain's kilowatt ratings

This is called a roller chain's tent curve, in which the horizontal axis indicates small sprocket rotation speed (n) while the longitudinal axis indicates kW ratings logarithmically. The graph provides a chain's kW ratings range to prevent chain fatigue. Line A-B indicates usage limit based on fatigue failure limit of the plate. Line C-D is decided by fatigue failure limit of the bushing and the roller. Line E-F is decided in consideration of galling (heating and burning of the bushing) between the pin and bushing caused by high speeds, indicating the limit within which galling will not be generated. The range defined within four points (A, G, H, and F) is the chain's allowable kW ratings.

TOUGH
High tensile strength and shock resistance prevent needless troubles in advance
High strength pin Selecting optimum steel type and heat treatment for each size has realized high tensile strength and shock absorption. It has excellent resistance against temporal impact load. Due to its toughness, troubles such as pin breakage are minimized. Comparison of tensile strength
Tensile strength test for roller chain

When the load on the chain increases to the point of shearing, the comparatively weaker of the plate or pin will shear first. The tensile strength of multi-strand roller chain is higher than that of single-strand by a factor of the number of rows.
